Noises from rear driver side when I accellerate
Anybody have an idea about this one ? I've been hearing disturbing knocking noises and a pulling sound from what appears to be my rear driver side tire area when I accelerate, yet not all the time (like a loose muffler or big rock rolling around). Usually it's been occurring when I start from a dead stop (red lights) or accelerate when stuck in traffic, then goes away for a little bit. Some other info: I had a loose passenger side muffler repaired (thought it might have been that), a loose mud flap in the front driver side wheel (still unsure), and was low on oil for a roadtrip. Ever since adding some oil, I haven't noticed the knocking, but could low oil be a cause for loud knocking coming from what appears to be the rear ? One last symptom: After a 2 hour drive I parked and smelt what seemed like burnt rubber (brakes, oil ??). I brought it in this morning and of course there is no more knocking and the brakes checked out OK.....Anyone experience anything like this before ?? Thx. :confused: :confused:

It reminds me of the sounnds I heard when I had bad U-joints in the right half-shaft.
The frequency of the "rattle" increased as I accelerated with light throttle and would go away while cruzin.
