Need help with optispark problems....
My friend had a TA with a bad Optispark so he changed it, when he started it the first time it would not run right it was running like the timing was off so he turned the car off he did not have the car running for more then 10 sec, but now it wont start again, it is now like the timing is bad because it will fire out off the exhaust.
What do you guys thing it is?

It's almost impossible to put the thing on wrong. Everything is keyed to only go on one way. This is the only things it could be.
1.) A Bad part (especially if it's a POS reman or rebuild)
2.) Wires are not routed correctly.
3.) He tightened the Opti to the timing cover when the spline wasn't lined up correctly.
If the last one is the problem, it's probably ruined. :nonod:

Verify spark plug wire connections and firing order. Is Opti unit brand new from dealer, or some POS rebuild from Autozone or some other parts place?

It is posible to install the opti in the wrong keyway. The car will backfire and not run properly if at all. It will not ruin the opti. You just need to remove it and reinstall it properly. I know because I did this. :D
