Manual fan switch set off error code or "ses" light???
Was having a discussion with one of my friends about putting the SLP manual fan switch in an LT1 Z28. It's the $70 item that a lot of aftermarket vendors sell.
Anyway, he tells me that no matter what car I put one in, and no matter who the company that makes it is, anytime I use the unit, an ses light will come on because the computer "sees that there's a fan on that shouldn't be on."
Is this valid? Or is it just a crock of "poopie"? In L98s or LT1s will this same thing occur due to this system? I haven't heard of any L98 guys with manual fan switches having issues.
(note: his information comes from a v-6 f-body forum where people say they have these issues)

I went to AutoZone, pickedup 2 26 amp toggle switches and tied them into the fan wiring. Have used them a couple of times now and no SES on the 91 L98.

I haven't done it yet, but I know on the '96 this won't happen if you do it other than what it says to do. Cartek did the wiring for Panuzzo's car and he doesn't get the SES light at all.
