Using the jack that came with the car, is it ok to first jack up the front left tire, put a jack stand underneath, then doing the same with the other side?
Of course, I'll be putting blocks at the rear wheels. But are there any other procedures that I should follow?
You'd be better off using a regular floor jack under the front crossmember, it is located in front of the engine, it wouldn't twist the car so much. You may have to drive it up on some boards to get the clearance to get the jack under there however.
That will work with no problems. You should always release the hood and both doors before jacking (no need to fully open them). That will allow for clearance when the corner of the car is raised. It's a good habit to get into. Place the jack between the marks and raise the car carefully. IMHO, the factory jack is a POS but it works in an emergency.
I have a small floor jack that will lift the entire side of the car when the jack is placed midway between the front and rear jacking points. You can then place jackstands at the front and rear of one side than do the other side. I can get the car up in about 5 minutes this way. I always look to make sure the jack pad clears the lines just behind the rocker panel. Fuel lines are on the passenger side and brake line on the driver's side.
