Default Hypertech's customer service SUCKS again!

Some of you may have read my post selling the Hypertech Power Programmer III to a fellow forum member. Anyway, the unit was for a '97 Trans Am I had and he is using it on one as well.

Shipped it to him, good transaction, etc etc. He writes me one day saying he plugged it in and it's giving him the error message about how the VIN# on the unit is still my car (saying it wasn't unprogrammed). I know that's bullpoopie because I verified that my car was "back to stock" at least 5-10 times before I boxed it up a few months ago.

I write Hypertech with my problem and ask how to fix it, or what they can do to fix the issue since the unit was taken off of my car.

Basically their response was, you're an idiot, you're wrong, we won't help you.

:mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad

What a great company  Now that I'm out the money I was making from the deal, I'm also out the money on the programmer since they reprogram the units to a new car for damn near the price of an entire new unit.

Man I cant agree with you anymore.... I called and explained that i was new at this and what kind of chip would run the best in my car,,,, and the response i got is ,,, we are sales people, not mechanics,,, and when I get my stuff in order and know what I want call back... I realize they are sale people and not mechanics,,,, but,, you would think they could at least explain their products to me.....

Never did get an answer from them regarding high/low speed cooling fan operation. All they could ever tell me was the fans do come on, that was from a tech rep the sales people turned me over to!!

They were great though in replacing my unit when it didn't correct for my 4.10 gear change.

So a little good & a little bad. Probably depends who you get on the phone.

so the unit can or can't handle low / high speed fans?
I know my 96 has hi - low fans, and I was wondering how the hypertech does that.

I was going to buy it just to lower my fan temp.....
