You know, they're bright white when you are parked & orange indirect when you are driving. Two sets of bulbs? Colored lenses? Magic?

There's an orange colored lens under the rear view mirror and in each door panel.

These are different from the map lights.

It's genius that they are there! I wish more cars did that!

So is it a different circuit & bulb under the orange lense?

I need to check mine because the orange light over the drivers door handle is out. I've had the door panels off before, and it is a separate circuit with a separate bulb, at least in the door panels. Seems like it might be a different kind of bulb though. I'll post back if I figure anything out on the bulb.

They come on with the park/head lights.

If you go to a Chevy dealer, they can tell you what kind of bulb it is and how much.

Wow, they've come down in price. I seem to recall that they were almost $25 a piece back when I had my 88. I believe that high mounted third brake light on the coupe takes the same bulb. I had to replace two in the dash and two in the third brake light and back in 1991, it was like $100 at the dealer. Ouch! I had been accustomed to four bits or so for the occasional turn signal or brake light for all the beaters I'd driven up up until I'd gotten that Vette...

$10? thats cheap, in the pool business, some pool lights are halogen. They can go for as low as $35 and as high as in the $80 range...insane for bulbs...its a good thing they last as long as they do.
