I just noticed there is about 1 inch of clearance between the left rear tire and the body and the right side sits noticeably higher. I put in new shocks and that didn't cure the problem. Has anybody else out there had this problem?

MOST of them sit a little crooked.
On mine it's the left front that sits lower.
Almost everyone on here has a Vette that sits a little bit 'not just right'. They come from Bowling Green like this.
Someone on here asked Gordon K. about it they said the answer was 'he just kind of smiled' about it.
Go to the dealer and look at new ones. They do it too.
C5s are easier to level because they have jack screws in the front nd springbolts in the rear.
It's EASY to adjust the rear with the spring bolts. Takes about 5 minutes.
Get under there and level it up.

Yes.... but there is only a hole in the stock bolts for a cotter pin at one location. You could put a 2nd nut on there I suppose to keep the main one from turning. I have the aftermarket lowering bolts which use those nylon insert nuts that don't need cotter pins. I leveled mine out with those.
