Can anyone tell me how if I can get away with shipting my auto trans (in a 1993 coupe) manually (ie: 1-2-D-OD) without doing any damage? I'd love to get right up to redline and get the fun of shifting manually. I know... buy a 6-speed... but for my daily driving, it just didn't make sense. I just want to have a little fun. Can I get away with this? Does anyone else do this? Consequences?
What year is it? I think these darn michigan roads are the worst thing for a vette! Anyway I upshift and downshift my trans all the time, it doesn't hurt anything unless you downshift and over-rev the engine. I don't think a stock car would let you downshift at too high of rpm, I installed a transgo shift kit when I rebuilt my trans and I can upshift or downshift at any rpm and it doesn't hurt.
