Hey guys, getting ready to order me a set of longtubes. My question is this, I don't really want to spend the money to get a cat back yet, so is it possible to install longtubes and have an exhuast shop to relocate my cats and make it work? also, for those who have done the install, what kind of time am i looking at? any tips? oh yeah, what is a good brand? price? thanks
Chris, if you install longtube, you willn't be able to use the stock cat. Here you can see the stock exhaust manifolds on an LT1 and here are the cats The longtubes will take up almost the whole length of the exhaust manifolds and cats combined. If you have a manual car you can use a setup like this with bullit cats, but with an auto it's super difficult. :steering:
that motor looks really awesome. what type of headers do you have? i don't want to spend 700 or 800 dollars for a set of headers. but i can't seem to find any headers to fit my corvette. it's a 6 speed car, so i could use those cats. what kind of cats are they, where can i get them? have you ever run your car without cats? i don't have to pass emissions, i just don't want the car too loud. thanks for the great info. still just searching for some headers and for some cats. thanks
The headers are Exotice Muscles (about $700 coated) the cats are Random Technologies (a little less than $500 for the pair). Without cats the car is going to be louder.
