thanks boonie
I switched to NGK Iridiums and Taylor 8mm Spiro Pros. At about 70K I had the Chevy put in new wires and plugs (both AC/Delco). Within a little more than a year I was getting a low rpm miss and it ran poorly. After reading a lot on this subject here and asking questions I chose to switch. Except this time, I installed them. I've been very pleased with the results, I've eliminated the miss and she runs very well. I don't have any data to support it but it feels much more responsive. Initially I had a problem with the coil wire, it wouldn't snap on the opti side. But one call to Taylor and in two days I had a new replacement.
With the iridiums you don't gap them, they are preset at the factory. Its a micro tiny electrode.
Oh almost forgot. The AC/Delco platinum plugs have a little small puck under the ground strap, and they can come off. I believe it was my #3 plug was missing the puck. After only 20K. And the AC wires seem to be shorting out against the oil dip stick.
Well as I said I'm very happy with the new setup. So I'll recommend them.
