Default Crossfire fuel pressure regulator

What is the color of the spring in the stock pressure regulator (inside rear TBI unit)? The one in this '82 is purple which allows 35# of pressure (not good for the diaphrams!)

Thirty five pounds of fuel pressure??? The spec is 9 to 13 pounds. Maybe someone stuck a valve spring in there. Memory tells me mine was green, but it's been awhile. It is pretty stiff. And you DID see how to adjust the fuel pressure, didn't you? Good luck, and...

Yes the adjustment is all the way at the bottom of the bowl (least tension on the spring).

And in that position you have 35 pounds of FUEL pressure? That's fuel pressure, not spring pressure. WOW! I don't even have a clue as to where to get a new spring. The TB rebuild kits *I* installed didn't have the spring. If I remember correctly, I was cautioned to not remove the 4 screws allowing access to the spring. Maybe you can make-do with a spring from a hardware store. Turbo City bores the TBs, maybe??? I'll try to think of other, possible, sources. You might get some additional help on the Crossfire Forum. Good luck, and...

Anyone know where to get a green spring for the pressure regulator?
Thanks,

I checked my parts book, and they don't break the TBs down, that far. As a matter of fact, all the key numbers in the illustration are listed as "NS". Not serviced. GM intended that if the model 400TBI needed service that it was to be exchanged with a factory serviced assembly. Meanwhile, I'm looking through my parts book, as I type. I see a pressure regulator kit listed. I doubt it would have the spring, but the part no. is 17079719, if you want to check it out. Besides Turbo City, I mentioned yestertday, Braswell Carburators, and any other carb rebuilder may be a source, as some of them do TBs, too. Otherwise, I think you'll be spending time at the hardware store checking out generic springs. Good luck, and...

Jet products makes an adjustable fuel pressure regulator for the truck throttle bodies. May they offer springs
