Okay... so I bought this 1993 LT1 that I LOVE. I bought it a one of the larger Corvette dealerships in Ohio, and I have receipts that confirm that they did an oil change before selling me the car. The receipts do not specify Mobil 1, though. I plan onm taking the car on a roadtrip this weekend, but I will check the oil level first. If I need to add oil... what should I use? I'm not sure what's in the crank case right now and cannot get in to get the oil changed before Nov 1. Anyone got any suggestions? Can you mix standard and synthetic oils?
not much coffeee this morning: but think you can mix both... but why not just change the oil to mobil 1 before your trip.... and don't forget the filter...

You can mix synthetic and regular oils. If you absolutely cannot have the oil changed, do not push the car hard. Your LT1 does not have an oil cooler. That is the main reason they switched to synth with the LT1.
