Looking at the AFR web page for the 210 cc heads, they list an angle plug head and a L98 plug head. Can someone explain the difference? The L98 head uses an angled plug also, correct?
Thanks for any explanation. :)
AFR has their own, proprietary angle. Hooker (2149 & 2151) headers for one won't fit the "AFR angle" heads. Therefore AFR offers heads with the "L98 angle" in addition to their own angle. Plug wise, at least, the AFR "L98 angle" heads are a direct replacement for stock L98 heads. Good luck, and...
As of last month, AFR no longer make the 'angle' head, they now only make the 'L98' angle plugs.
They have also deleted 190's from the product range.
How do I know this?? I have some on order :D :D :D
Ben.
So the angle is the angle of the head surface on the exhaust side. Correct? Or am I still confused.
Thanks for the responses guys. :)
NO! That is another subject. We're talking angled plugs, here. It has to do with the angle at which the plugs, stick out of the head. The Hookers, and other headers that don't fit the AFR angled plug heads, bolt to the heads, just fine. But the plugs and/or wires don't clear the header tubes. Again, AFR has a proprietary angle that it incorporates in to some of their heads. The heads they make duplicating the stock L98 plug angle, take headers the same as stock heads. Good luck, and...
approx 10 degrees difference. Enough to make the plug hit the header primary.
I have some 210's (1053's) with the comp CNC. Gorgeous tracts!
They flow like mad.
AFR calls the angle plug head a Bowtie angle. I have these on my car but they are the 220's. I had to cut 2 tubes out of the right header(LPE) and weld new tubes in with different bends. They also have a raised exhaust port that makes the headers tighter to the floor.

Ben.
I just received their new catalog last week and it still shows both the 190s and the 195s. It says the 195s have larger intake port openings to better accomodate certain intake manifolds, but they flow the same as the 190's, at least in unported form.
Once ported the 195s flow a little better upstairs. The 190s still show up on the price list that came with the catalog.
Have they since discontinued the 190s; since the catalog went into print?
