my 96 is having serious problems with the passive keyless entry. while driving the passive keyless entry light comes on in the info cluster and at times the door locks start locking and unlocking and then they will start making a fast clicking noise and then my hatch will pop open.this will hapen about 1 out of 10 times i get in the car. it will also do this when the car is setting too but only a couple of times. ive replaced the battery in the transmiter and even left the transmitter at home and it will still do this. the only way to stop this is to take the fuse out of the hatch release and the power door locks. in anyone has had this problem please let me know how to fix it, thanks....
I have the same problem with my 93 convert. The boys here tell me to check the door switch pins. That it is not making good enough contact and the switch is failing and setting it of. Check out fatboytm info.

Re: keyless entry problems (1qwik96)
The problem sounds like it might be related to the PKE receiver some how.
I haven't had the same problem, but once while I was disconnecting / reconnecting the battery the hatch release was activated, as if I had depressed the hatch release button on the remote FOB.
Given my one-time happenstance, and that the programming procedure for the remote FOB lights-up the PKE light on the DIC, I'd guess you might have a grounding problem.
I's suggest tracking down where the ground wire for the PKE receiver is and checking it (loosen/tighten to be sure).
