Had a problem installing headers, passenger side air tube, please help!
hey guys, didn't take me anytime to get the manifolds unbolted, the drivers side was out in about 30 minutes, the passenger side was unbolted quicker than that, but i couldn't get the air tube unbolted from the manifold. in fact, some how the fitting pinched the tube and now it looks egg shaped. i managed to unbolt the air tube from the back of the intake and just pull the whole assembly out, but still can't ge the tube disconnected from the manifold. dealership wants $105 bucks for a new one!! anyone in the nashville or bowling green area have one laying around for an lt1 that they aren't using, or know a better solution? i thought about just capping the smog off, but i'm not sure what all is involved in that. thanks for the help guys!

I had a lot of problems with my 92 when installing the headers. I found using a lot of a good penitrant (sp) and let it set overnight did the trick. You could try some heat via a torch or maybe stick it in the oven @300 for about 1/2 hr. The heat and penitrant should free it up.
You'll need a new gasket for the back of the intake where it bolts to the head. Also, be sure to chase the threads on the fitting on the header if it is ceramic coated or you will have a leak for sure.
