Default Injector duty cycle.. datamaster incorrect?

I noticed datamaster calculates the injector duty cycle.. does anyone know how this is done? also, how accurate have you found it to be?

Dutycycle....

Batchfire: (Early L98s)

(Pulsewidth * RPM ) / 600 = DC

Sequential: (Late L98s I think, LT1s, etc)

(Pulsewidth * RPM ) / 1200 = DC

i'm batch fire (early LT1's).. anyways, i calculated what i have..

(BPW*RPM)/600 = inj DC according to scorp...

bpw=10.79
rpm=5525

that gives me

(10.79*5525)/600 = 99.3%!!! :eek: :eek:

is this bad for my injectors? how can i fix this.. i jsut emaijled my chip burner and he said as lojng as fuel is getting to the engine done worry about it.. however, this sounds like its going to beat up my injectors!!

what now?

You've basically gone static at that point and lost fuel control as the injecotrs are just hanging open all the time dumping in as much as possible.

You could raise your fuel pressure and lower the amount of fuel the chip puts in try try and get a lower pulsewidth to achieve a DC of around 80%.

i jsut emailed my tuner back asking about that question.. i'm curious what his answer will be..

does 99% DC lead to inj failure?

I believe tht 80 percent is the maximum acceptable duty cycle for injectors.
