I already know the #2 injector is dead, got a new one fine and dandy. How labor intensive is it to install and is this the type of job for a shade tree mechanic to attempt by himself? Am I going to end up devoting my whole weekend to this or will a day or so suffice to get the job done? Also how wise is it to only replace the one injector? :jester
I would plan to replace them all. Better yet have the good ones cleaned and flow tested. Send them to Rick. The job is a PITA. I spent most of last weekend on replacing mine and I'm still not done. Of course, I was replacing valve seals first and that realy is a PITA and took most of one day. Everything I've done on my vette was more difficult than other cars. But don't let that stop you. Just be patient!
Dwestsr brings a good point- all of them should at least be serviced since all the injectors should have about the same time on them.
In all honesty, ithe work should take a shadetree mechanic one day to do on an L-98 and I would guess about the same or less on an LT-1 (less dismantling required). Only non-standard handtools you will need are an assortment of torx bits. Make sure you have new gaskets, injector o-rings, and maybe some spare injector clips.
I can swap that stuff out on L-98's in about 3 hours.
