I placed an order for some afr heads about 6 weeks ago, and come to find out, the place i ordered it through never placed the order for me, and never let me know this. So 6 weeks later I have no heads. Who else besides afr makes really nice heads that flow great, for around 1200 dollars or so? These heads are going on a stealthramed 383. Nitrous will be sprayed on this motor also. I just cant wait another few months for heads. Cast iron or aluminum isn't a big issue, as long as it flows great, and will stand up to the nitrous. Thanks guys!

I bought my Edelbrocks from Summit and Performance Automotive Warehouse stocks them too. They were right on the shelf and I had them in 3 days.
Less than a grand too.
At the time I bought mine, I had a 355 CID engine so I bought the Performer RPMs. Now that I have a bigger engine, if I decide to switch heads (which I'm considering) I'll probably go with Edelbrock Victor Jrs.
The Jrs don't flow as well as AFR's stuff down low, but they are available and AFR's are not. There are guys who ordered AFR's in Sept and MAY get them in December. Apparently AFR doesn't inventory their heads.
There are others out there that are good also. Check out ChevyHiPerformance.com for flow info on lots of different heads.
Remember take into account whether all the sensor and accessory mounting holes are drilled and tapped, whether you need straight or angle plug versions (headers sometimes won't take angle plug heads so that'll be another nightmare).
Be sure they can be ordered with the springs you need and whether they are CNC ported.
Edelbrocks combustion chambers, intake and exhaust ports (in about 1-1/2" or so) are CNC. Valve sizes, etc.
Little things can mean a lot. They should come ready to rinse and bolt on.
