I took the Vette to car wash (no brushes) today, I was in nuetral & the car died before I exited. Service engine light went on) & Voltage read 10.7. (I had the undercarage washed during the process). I started it once & it died immediately. I turned the key a 2nd time & NOTHING, no respnse at all, but dash, stereo, lights were still functioning. I waited a bit & tried again. Car started, but I had to rev up to keep it going. Service engine light still on & comes on everytime I start the car now. It doesn't seem to have a problem since I got home. I started, restarted, tried it in drive & w/A/C on, etc. checked battery, alt, plug wire connections. All ok. Could the water spray to undercariage have temporarily messed w/something? I am at a loss.
Re: Car Wash Caused SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT -- Help! (JCAIRE2)
Mine does this, too. The code I would get was for the MAF. Since you have a cut lid and a K&N, I bet the water is getting in through your induction somehow - mine has a cold air induction hanging down in front of the air inlet, I figure it's getting in there...
Disconnect your battery or pull fuse to clear ECM, it should have dried up enough not to set the code again.

Re: Car Wash Caused SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT -- Help! (Strick)
UPDATE- Vette starting, running fine now & No Service Engine Light on. Is it possible that some water got into the starter during the undercarriage wash? Or maybe the 02 sensor wire connector, which was not, (but is now) wrapped in electrical tape & surrounded by a plastic wire protector? About running the Vette through a Car Wash- It was one of those "touchless washes" & I didn't let them Pre-brush the vette, so it was only soap/water that actually touched the paint. :) Although, I admit, I was lazy & should have washed it myself. I did get home & wax it on my own though. If that makes up for the mistake. hehe
