700R4 question!!!!
i was wandering if a tranny is messed up like slipping etc... How much of a power lose is this to the car ??? Mine is messing up, I can floor it at say 55 and it will red line but the car is stilll going 55 :crazy: then it will grab as soon as i let off and refloor it :lol: need your advice :yesnod:

When my 3-4 went, it did like you describe but got worse very fast. I couldn't get in 2 miles before I totally lost 3-4. I had to drive 8 miles in 2nd gear.

in that case you may want to check your TV cable the proper procedure for this is on http://www.700r4.com
but you have probobly fryed the trans fluid, when you get it fixed, i highly recomend a temp guage and cooler

Did you look at the fluid? Good fluid should be reddish. Bring the car to someone you TRUST. Our family car had a problem with the tranny and it turned out being a 75 cent sensor. I brought the car to a friend who worked at tranny shops his entire life. He told me if this were any one else it would be a $2500.00 job, just the way the business goes.
