My '92 has 107,000 miles.I want to rebuild the front end.Has anyone did this in his garage or were the parts sent out to the machine shop for pressing of bushing-poly or rubber.
All suspension bushing can be done in the garage. But, only if your garage has a hydralic press :D Otherwise, your plan to take the components to a shop (try a good alignment shop because they do this for a living) is a good one to do the heavier press work. Some of it can be done in a vice, but not all - lower ball joints for example. I recently saw an estimate of something like $700 labor to do every bushing front & rear, plus the tie rod ends and ball joints. I thought that was pretty reasonable because Jason (RX7 KLR) and I did my front end, including modifing the spring bumpers to lower it, in his garage (he had the press) in one day. But we both worked the whole day and didn't really stop much at all for about 8 hours straight. That was just the front end too. It's mostly a lot of manual labor. Good luck, Paul :flag
