Upon contacting the outfit about the problems encountered with the sorry workmanship their attitude was basically, "So what?"
Considering the friends and commraderie that most people find in the motor sports arena and all the help that most are quick to offer, it is a real shame that some companies such as TPIS take the attitude of "So what if the headers didn't fit correctly and were out of alignment and needed a whole day of grinding to clear passages and.....etc.?"
Personally, I don't feel these guys deserve a single dime for their product. YMMV.
Re: Update on TPIS header problems... (southern_son)
Had the same problem with my TPIS headers. I just grinded the bolt holes and they fit great. I have had them for several years. Shame you spend so much and get crappy work.
I have to agree on the problems with my TPIS headers, that were put on two years ago. The bolt holes had tobe drilled out. due to coating. the headers had to banged with a large socket and a hammer so that the bolt would go in straight, and not strip the back driver side bolt. When I complained to the company, and asked why the workmanship was not there on such an expensive product, they claimed the headers work/fit perfectly, and then they have them coated afterwards, and no one checks them after, before boxing them up. Now two years later, they still fit fine, no leaks, but the expensive coating is having a case of measles, with little rust spots showing up all over them. Really dissapointing. Then there was the matter of the high temp plug wires. They sent 7 with the regular style boot (with a tit on top) and one plain. When I said, I would like the 8th to match, so that the distutor ring would hold all 8 down, they sent me a do it yourself boot, not a new wire. notice a trend here? :mad
