Should distributor have a plug retainer ring on it?
Should the distributor have a ring around the top of it that snaps on and holds the sparkplug wires in place? My plug wires have the little things that stick up on the tops of them to fit in one, and I've seen them on other GM cars. Am I missing one, or is that what the plenum extension is there for?

Yes theres a plastic ring that snaps over the wires on top of the distributor.
It even has the firing order of the plugs I believe.I think alot of people forget to put them back on or lose them.I sold mine when I didnt use it anymore.
Sometimes people upgrade to performance wires and the GM plastic ring wont fit anymore.Hope this helps some.
