I searched the internet for a description which fuse is for what...i didn't find anything... today i took a photo of my '87 fuse box. can someone help me out and tell wich fuse is for what?
Another question...How can i see if a fuse is burned through?
You are kidding us right? Each fuse is identified by an abbreviation above the fuse position, such as, "Brake" which is a 10 amp fuse for the brake lights. Usually the fuse element can be seen as broken and a dark color at the break when a fuse is blown. If it is not obvious the fuse is open circuit, I always use my ohmeter to prove that the fuse is good.
Also if you cannot tell what they are from the abbreviation, the owner's manual has a chart with a more detailed explanation of each fuses function.
no, i'm not kidding, my english knowledge is very limited and i'm new to tech-stuff, so i've got my problems translating technical terms. usually i use altavista to translate words, but there are many abbreviations.
and a lot of words will be translated very strange by altavista, so i've got no idea some times. ok, brake i understand, clstr yould be cluster, turn sig -ok, but vats etc. i've got no idea.
thank you for the pics.
yesterday i caused a "short-circuit" (altavista!!). after, a few lights and my cd were dead. i replaced all fuses, one by one to see wich it was. it was the yellow one (see above). but only the plastic is broken, huh? :skep:
altavista (altavista.com) is the site where i translate words i don't understand / i don't know in english.
"short-circuit" is maybe a very strange translation of what i mean, right?
whats RDO, WPR, INST, LPS, FR, L.C.D, CTSY and BU?
