Default $ Cost value. 383 stroker kit vs. assembled shortblock. $

Which would end up being cheaper ? Considering that the rotating assembly kit would require the labor cost of tearing down the stock shortblock, installation and machining, etc. , would it end up being less expensive (parts and labor) to just drop in a completley assembled stroker shortblock ?

$$$$

Thanks.

my stroker ran about $1800.00 assembled with a 2 year warrenty.. of course I reused the rods (had the casting flashing grinded off, stress relieaved and ARP rod bolts installed), and used Keith Black Hyperutetic pistons (which alot of people dont like around here), Comp Cam's Cam shaft, stock Rockers and TB, Stock exhaust manifolds..etc..etc.. and about another 200 for ECM tuning..

My bill was $3500 including redoing the tranny. That was forged rods, SRP forged pistons, and the highest quailty cast crank (Scat 9000).

Take a guess at about $1000 for all the machine work you'd normally do (deck the block, cleareance, bore/hone, balance, etc...)

What normally drive people to a shop, and away from kits, is that they want specialized setup. This is the key for the vettes since our heads are 58cc and required large dish pistons.

Here is the price that i got for the machine work. The Eagle 4340 forged rotating assembley with Srp Pistons are $1420. Jobber cost.. And the machine work is from a high end macnine shop in the area.
