Default Oil Question...

OK... This may be a real dumb question but....

I have a '93 LT1. I live in Michigan and have the car ready to store. The only issue is that there are plenty of great driving days left in this month. So, I had the insurance put back on the car and I am gonna drive it some more! I already did my end-of-season oil change, though. Can I just store it with the same oil after putting some more miles on the car? It's Mobil 1, so I figure I can put about 500-1000 miles on the car and still store it with the same oil. Any comments or suggesstions?

Thanks in advance!

couldn't see why, 500-1000 on mobil1 is nothing... maybe someone has a tech reason why you shouldn't...

The main reason for changing then storing is to make sure you get all of the built up acids and moisture out. If you had run the engine to a good, high temp and then drained it and put fresh in then you probably got most of the "bad" stuff out. A couple of hundred miles should not introduce enough to cause problems. If you were to store it for years, not months, I'd say change it again, but you're not.
