Hi and thanks.
Im building a heavy modified '88 coupe. Not one thing is left in this car original.Right now its almost torn down to the bare butt. My question is that im not a chassis person, and id love if some of you serious fanatics out there have and hints,tips,tricks,dont-do's, you could share..The only thing ive planned on doing chassis wise, is installing the 6 point roll bar into it.Is this enough??? The motor is a s/c 383 TPI,NO2..I plan to throw 500 horse at the car all day long...
Its funny how you read how awesome the C4 is, and then the next article i read say how the C$ was flexy and unstable, and not-predictable...What gives???
The cars main use will be street ,with (im sure) the few times a year drag race, and the occasional autocross..But mainly just a seriously bad-butt street car.
Thanks friends.
autobody foam goes inside the frame rails. It will do a couple of things, fill the air void, with lowers noise, also, it will make the metal that much stronger.
this stuff is very dense, not unlike bumper foam. VERY rigid.
coil overs? a couple of options... do a search here... or, check with Doug Rippie and Exotic Muscle.
I have done some rear chassis mod's. I changed everything over from rubber to urethane, and used DRM's relocation brackets. It's suppose to take some of the anti-squat out of the car and help plant the rear tires. Kind of like making a 4 link adjustment. I think it helped my car.
