I am having twin turbos installed. Any recommendations on the brand, model and type of guages and pillars pods to install on an '85? I am considering the Autometer cobalt series. Anyone have those and, if so, what are your thoughts. Thanks for the help. :)
I have the Cobalt fuel pressure and tranny temp gauges and they are well made. I haven't had a chance to install them yet, hopefully next weekend. Here the one you might consider.

They make nice setups, and it all depends how much money you want to spend. You're probably going to want a FP gauge and that will be the most expensive. You either have to go electric with a sending unit, or run an analog with a isolator. Either way it will set you back about $175 from summit or jegs. Go with a boost/vacuum gauge, because accurate vacuum will let you know if you have a leak which will abviously hurt boost. and I would definitely go with an EGT gauge to keep an eye on possible detonation.
Other than that, you should do a search in the archives for Wideband O2 sensors. Especially for turbo's they might be tricky to install in the right location to get accurate readings.
Oh, BTW: YOU'D BETTER POST SOME PICS AND UPDATES ON THAT TURBO SETUP!   There's sooo many people on here that need to pick your brain!
My pillar pod has Autometer gauges they are Boost/Fuel Pressure & /Air Fuel Ratio. EGT is ok but not as useful as a/f ratio because the egt is too slow. You could have a lean spot and the engine will accelerate throught it so fast that the egt won't show it but a/f ratio will show it. On a dyno in direct gear egt would help if you load the engine to where it can't rev very quickly. Also egt can show high reading when A/F ratio is ok but the timing is off so both would be good but if you only use one I would go with the A/F over the EGT
I have the Autometer Boost and Fuel Pressure guages mounted on my pillar, with the lights on the factory dimmer. They work quite well.
I removed the needle valve from the fuel pressure tap in the back of the passenger side fuel rail. Then I got an 90 degree adapter from a local tractor hydraulic fitting company to adapt to a hose and mounted the sensor on the heater box bolts.
I custom mounted my gauges in the cup holder positions in the center console. This gives my car a stock appearance by the casual onlooker and the only problem is having to have the passenger hold onto drinks.
How do you watch the guages while watching the road and handling the car (steering, shifting, etc.)? Sure would be tough to explain an accident due to looking down to see a guage in the console cup holder.
