Perhaps someone can help me with a problem I started having on my '93. The driver side door window comes up too high, as much as an inch, or so. I have had the car since new and it never happened until this year.
Is there some sort of a bumper or whatever that could have gone bad? How difficult is it to remove the inside door cover?
Re: 1993 Driver Door Window Raising Too High (Rubyred)
i have the same problem and i resolve it.
(sorry for my bad english , i am french)
first you have to remove the door panel
then there two options
1 the retainer fixed inthe the front of the windows is broken
and you have to change it
2 the thrust of the windows is in wrong position so you need to adjust it by the two screw that fix that thrust.
good luck and send my an email if you can resolve this problem
Re: 1993 Driver Door Window Raising Too High (Rubyred)
Though there are other possibilities, the windows have a "stop" that allows the windows to only roll so far up. The stop gets weak and sometimes allow the stop on the regulator frame to bend pass the stopping point on the window. I had to bend mine in, yours may be doing the same. Take the door panel off and shine a light from the top. You'll be able to watch the regulator where it is suppose to stop.
Also, though the stopping point is adjustable, it probably doesn't need adjusting, I doubt it moved 1 1/2 inches.. the stop either came completely loose or the stop broke.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try to work on in a couple of weeks. Next week I have to do the wheel cylinders on my '63--there is always something.
