My car with 4.10's is only turning 275 more rpms than my friends stock(?) 3.45's ar 60 mph. The 4.10's are turning 1650 rpms, and the 3.45's are turning 1375 rpms. Does this sound right?
Do both of you have the same trans? Are you in the same gear? Using your 1:1 ratio's and a 26" tire: 2500 rpm w/ 3.45:1's you have 56mph
2500 rpm w/4.10:1's you have 47mph the 4.10:1's would need 3000 rpm to do 56mph a 500rpm diff. Now that doesn't account for convertor slippage and other variables, but it does state that it takes 500 rpm more with the 4.10:1's.
That's the rpm diff all else being equal. Good Luck!

A little off the topic but while we are talking 6 speeds, did you guys know that the real good 6 speeds come in Vipers and came in some early 93-94 f-bodies? What I mean by good is that the gear ratio's were all close ratio 1st gear wasn't as low (2.80's) and 5th and 6th gear were/are .87 and .62 respectively. This trans would do wonders for acceleration especially in top speed were your rpms won't drop to far from 4th-5th-6th maintaining good acceleration through out!
