Default A/C Fan not that strong

Where is the fan located and what test could be run to make sure that it is getting full power? The fan blows air but when it is on high it feels like low used to. I also know that it is not the switch because you can feel a small difference when you change fan speeds.

Thanks,
Sol

I assume you are talking about the heater and air conditioning fan (blower). The motor and fan assy are accessable from the engine side of the firewall, at the far right side. My Helms doesn't indicate the voltages at the different fan settings. I would assume it should be getting 12 volts with the fan on high. If this checks out, I would pull the blower and reach in and see if you can't locate a blockage. Good luck, and...

The fan on my '89 was not blowing that strong either and finally stopped working until I had to slapped to make it work. Anyway the GM manual for my '89 says that you should have a voltage reading of 10 or more volts with the a/c set at econ (I have electronic controls) at the fan connector. I had a reading of 11+ volts, so I replaced the fan motor ($45) and my blower works fine. To remove the blower I had to remove the wheel well panel.

I've been looking for a fan set up that would blow more CFM's for over a year now.
If you find one please let me know.
thanks
