Wow! Just got the prices for a flywheel $850, Pressure plate $265, and disc $180. This is with an employee discount. Seems high, but I haven't bought a clutch and flywheel in a long time. I want to stay with the OEM flywheel and clutch to keep the noise and clatter down. I figure that if this clutch can hold a ZR1, it will be fine for my LT1. I'm always open to suggestions.
Hi Tom...I hope you have a quote from Chris @ Superior Chev........his prices have always been very good. Also, I've seen new OEM fly wheels for the LT-1 occassionally offered on EBAY for pennies on the dollars. :seeya
I haven't taken it out yet and as "Murphy's Law" goes, I'll need a flywheel and everything else. I've had an oil leak in the past which got on the clutch, hence, the slipping. I'm babying it so as not to scorch the flywheel, but I'm getting mentally prepared for the worst.
Hi Steve, I saw a LT4 clutch and flywheel on e-bay for $400 (last bid), but I don't think I'm brave enough to buy from there. They say it just sat in the shop and was never used, but how do I know they're on the up and up? I hate to gamble with that much money, I'm a wooose.
