Default LS1 C4?

A buddy of mine is considering doing an LS1 swap inot a C4. He refuses to do any research on what would be involved and has a "We'll figure it out" attitude. If he does it, I will be helping him, and I would also rather be a little bit more prepared. Anyone ever done this? Anyone got any idea what is involved? Will the LS1 mate to the ZF 6 speed in a 93?

Those are the main questions. Any help would be appreciated.

There has been about 3 dozen discussions about this subject in the past, please make a search.

TracerX has actually done it: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zero...rofile&id=3064

According to him it is not such a bad job. The biggest thing is to fabricate motor mounts as C4 and LS1 do not match. To anybody familiar to metal work it should not be a big problem. If I remember it correctly F-body version of LS1 is easier to fit into a C4. It bolts to 700R4 so I suspect there is no problem in using the 6 speeder either.

The problem will be the ECM change and all the wiring for it and the instrument panel.
