What a PIA!!!!!! I just finished installing a Transgo Shift kit and I wish I had just paid to have someone else install the damn thing. I had the valve body completely installed when I noticed a spring for the TV valve lying on the work bench :mad . After pulling the valve body back down and the TV plunger back out (that back roll pin is a PIA) I found out the reason the spring was on the bench was because the new valve came with a new spring  , go figure. I spent the next hour trying to get the damn 2nd gear accumulator back in.
Well tomorrow I will give it a run and see if it was worth the effort.

Would like to know how you like it. Also how long did the install take you (minus the little spring problems :) )?
I did a transkit on my Camaro a long while back. It was the 700R4 tranny. I lucked out that I was working as a Service Advisor for a dealership and was able to use one of the lifts on a Saturday. It took me a good 4 hours to do with a lift. There is no way I would do it without. Hence, my Vette still doesn't have one in it. The reason is with just the jack stands, you don't have a lot of room and there are a bunch of bolts that you need to remove to get the valve body out. The bolts are also very long. Best advise I can give is read and re-read the instructions over and over. Then be very patient and do it one step at a time. No matter how tempting it is to do something from a later step eariler, don't do it. Also, so you don't end up doing the same thing the original poster did (hey, I did the same thing! Thought I forgot a spring, what a pain!), take a small box and anytime a spring is replaced by a new spring or spacer, put the old spring or spacer in the box. When you are done putting the valve body together, you should not have any parts left over. Also, most of these kits have 2 different versions, towing and street. Decide on which one at the beginning and separate out the parts that go to the version you do not want to build. Put them in that box too. Install it and enjoy. I was barking 2nd gear in a 90 Camaro with the little 3.1 V6 in it. The shift kit will wake up a car quick!
