I need a new radiator quickly and am currently searching local salvage yards for a rad I can use. Mine is currently leaking and I plan later, when my parts budget allows, to buy a new radiator. In the mean time, I'm looking a suitable used one.
Does anyone know if a 91-96 radiator is a direct replacement for an '89?
Also does anyone know the dimensions of an '89 radiator? A lot of the part searches I'm doing are asking:
Im pretty sure the later years wont be a direct fit.GM changed some stuff after 1990.Do check your local radiator repair shops.I had a leaky tank that got replaced with a new unit, everything sealed, pressured tested and all that for 60 bucks. That was another GM car and its held up fine for a long time.
It as the cheapest route I found locally for a repair.
Also,Autozone sells Radiator replacements Brand new in the 130 dollar range or so,maybe a bit higher.Their supplier uses the original GM Tanks,I think the name Harrison or Harriman is printed on it(I forget right now the exact name). It was 100% identical to my original you couldnt tell them apart.I used it for my 86 Vette and it has the lifetime warranty. It works fine as a stock replacement.Be sure to check that out if money allows that much at the moment.
Hope this helps some...Im sure others will answer some questions more directly.
