ECM question? Misgeared?
Yesterday I put my rebuilt trans and rearend in. I changed from 2.59's to 3.54's and sent my computer off to Z Industries in Ca. I had everything changed to match the cam, heads, injectors and stuff but when I got it back and took it for a test drive yesterday, it was as if the computer was never reprogrammed.
I say that because it wasn't shifting correctly (speed and rpmwise) and at about 60 mph, the speedo read 100.
Could there be anything I could have overlooked before I send the computer back to him in Ca? I had given him my tire size and gear ratio when I originally sent it to him
Suggestions? I can only assume that within the list of changes I wanted made for the ECM, he apparently forgot the gear ratio fix. Can't I take it to a local dealer and use an OBDII scanner to at least read what ratio it's set up for. (I understand that you can't change it at the dealership with an OBDII scanner, but at least if you could read it, I wouldn't be sending the computer back for nothing)
The guy apologized and said send it back, but I've already got 40 bucks in shipping and now not only do I have to send it back again, I'll be without it for whatever time.....

Some year Corvettes require a speedo gear change, but since you neglected to...
Mine is a '95. How do I know if that applies to mine? I'd like to know before I ship the computer back to Ca.

For late models, you need to input ratio and tire size. Dealer's can be picky about doing this, but no harm in asking. Otherwise, the aftermarket can supply you with a reprogrammer and you can do it yourself.
