My friend Mike just bought a clean 91 vette.
Its has 36k miles auto. My 92 is an auto. with 40k miles.
He thinks that he can beat me in a stop-light drag.
Well guys before I put my money where my mouth is.
Can I smoke him?? Will it be close?? Would I be better off
in a quarter mile race?? If I lose I will never hear the end of this..
I think it porobably depends on the length of the stop light race. A short burst and you should take him, but anything longer and he should overcome you. I would think you'd probably have an advantage in a 1/4 mile race. There's only one way to find out...........get those cars to the track and go for it :reddevil
The 91 (L98) will be quick to 30mph... the 92 (LT1) will be quicker to 60 mph.
Overall, stock to stock, on the 1/4 mile, the LT1 will win. It does come down to driver skill, tho. if the driver of the L98 is better, you have little hope, unless you are his equal.
Make sure you both have the same rear gears. 2.59 was standard but lower (numaricly higher) gears were options. Lower gears will help you more then him.
Too funny Darth. Robetrpel9 and I have the same thing going on!! He has the 91 and I the 92! From driving both cars...I think you'll take him inthe 1/4. He might....might get the jump on you off the start...depending on driving skill....but you'll catch him. Stock for stock that is. Check out the post that Robertpel9 made about L98 vs. LT1....there were some good answers to your question there!!!! Let me know how you make out if you go at it! :D
