Default First time at the track with the 'Vette!

Well today I finally got to run my STOCK 94 LT1, 6-speed coupe. My best run was:

60' 2.22
1/8 8.96 @ 81.56 MPH
1/4 13.72 @ 103.39 MPH

This car is bone stock with the exception of a K&N filter, which I'm sure by itself doesn't make much of a difference. I did get a better 60' time of 2.18 on another run, but my ET was higher. I'm still running the original Goodyear GS-Cs which are almost 10 years old by now so that's about as good as my 60' time is going to get.

On a separate note, do you guys shift into 4th at the end of the 1/4 mile on a stock LT1? I tried keeping it in 3rd gear, but hit the rev limiter about 100-150 feet before the finish line on my first run. Had to shift into 4th for my other runs. And yes I was redlining every gear.

nice time! I'm jealous of the mph. my stock '95 auto went 8.8@81.9 and 13.6@99. my mph seems to fall off at the top. ONLY mod was bullet mufflers.

very nice, my cars the same as yours except for the automatic. have the same stock wheels etc. ... in my opinion i would shift into 4th and not hit the revlimiter before the traps...
with my all stock 1994 automatic (even the air filter) i got:

60" 2.093
1/8 8.912@82.04
1/4 13.735@104.64

and that was hitting the rev limiter in 2nd gear (my tranny shifts like crap from 2nd to 3rd so i just kept it in 2nd)

i now have a k&n with a hypertech programmer that will either firm up the 2nd to 3rd shirt or just raise the rev limit and shift points so that 3rd will not be needed..

great times......I shift to 4th in the 1/4......If you can improve the 60' you will see some quicker times.........FYI, so far I have a best of 13.43 with the same setup as you but the Florida heat..........with the cool winter I'm hoping for some low 13's :steering:

Were you at the Challenge yesterday?

When I raced my six speed, I would hit 4th right around the 1000' mark(maybe a little later), I shift at 6000 rpm(although in reality it's probably 5800).

See sig for best times(13.07@108 best in stock config).

Yes, I was there yesterday. It was my first one ever and I had a great time. Met a lot of nice folks there. Will try to make it to as many as I can next season.
