Default D36 to D44 Swap

Just pokin around at the possibility of this. It's been done many many times over and i'd just like a little info or a site from someone that's been kind enough to document thier swap. I figure i want to put 3.73's in the car and if i'm gonna race it the D44 would be going in eventually so i'll tackle both at the same time...what do you guys think?

Hi. Your profile says you own a C3. Do you also have a C4 you're looking to do this too?

go to the top of the page, you will see "Tools" on the menu, click that and go to C4 Tech Tips, there is a write up on the swap.

Thanks Mr. Mojo!

and yes, i became the proud owner of a C4 (1984) this june for the paltry sum of 4k...i couldn't pass it up since it had a new GM 255hp crate motor and rebuilt 700R4 & D36 in it which around here alone is almost that much cash...

Has it got the Crossfire on the new engine? You may want to rethink the gear ratio and the expense of the Dana 44 if you do. My '84 is quicker than most stockers and has 6-700 1/4 mile passes on it with no problems...yet. Good luck, and...

RACE ON!!!

Currently, yes it still has the crossfire on top of it...and after reading up on the crossfire vault, it might stay that way if dan will bore out my TB's for the Xram i am likely to purchase for it if i go that route...either way i wanna go i'll make about enough horsepower with slicks and some bite to trash the entire driveline...i'd prefer to invest in that first if that be the case...
