Default which heads?

I have been having overheating problems in my L98. I have checked/replace almost everything and it still gets way too hot at times.
I have had it in the back of my mind for a while that the problem could be a head gasket, or even a cracked head. I didn't want to think about it because of the cost involved.
Anyway, if I do have to pull the heads off, I have decided that I would eventually do heads and cam. It just maybe sooner than later.
My question is, which heads to use. I have searched the archives and have decided either Edelbrock performer or AFR.
The AFR's I have read that they don't have fittings for coolant sensor/switches. I beleive they are also not centre bolt for rocker covers( although I may be wrong on this).
I use the car mainly for autokahnas etc, so I am more interested in torque than revs.
I am also thinking of using 219 cam, Superram and 1.6 ratio rockers.

So which heads for want I want to do?

AFRs for any future mods, especially a bigger bottom end.

But for the L98 itself, just as a bolt on, the Edelbrocks will work quite well and should be just fine for the SR and a 350.

If your #113 heads are OK, just have them ported and worked a little; then they will flow to over 400chp and should work well with that cam.

i am not a big fan of porting stock heads and here is why
1 the port job will probally be in the $400-$600 range for porting only then plus a valve job seals and better springs you will be pushing $800-$1000 easy and like he said you can get 400 chp if you look around you can find a set of afrs used for that same $1000 or new for $1400-$1800 and they will make up to 520-550 chp with them + they will not be crack prone or warp prone as the factory heads are

That's about the only thing I haven't done, but I will. Iwon't pull the heads until I am 100% certain that is the problem.
The condensor is slightly damaged, so that is reducing air flow anyway.
How hard is it to pull the front end off to get at the condesor and auxilary fan?
