I just purchased a 94 that has a leaking injector. the engine is stock. Would the SVO #19 injectors work as a direct replacement for the stock injectors without any tuning? I just picked it up last night and have not checked the fuel pressure yet. I've had an 86 for the last 4 years and know nothing about the LT-1 tuning yet. So I'm just starting. Any suggestions on a scan tool? I used to use a diacom but it is no longer available.

I replaced mine with the #24 from ford. They work Fine, if you do a search you will find that the ford ones are favored and the Accell ones you need to stay away. Check out ebay, they are usually on sale. Also check the how to section, thats what i used and it went pretty smooth.
Sorry, I meant to say #21. I went to the 5-0 motorsports website and the #21 were recommended. Is this because the want to choke us down so they can win?
Which #24 should I order? There looks to be about 4 or 5.
you didn't have to reprogram anything? I had read in the scan and tune that the fuel pressure needed changed as well as the injector pulse width.

I had read a thread in the tune and scan archive that recommended the 21 lb so thats what I ordered last week. I will not be racing, so will the 21's be sufficient. I also read that the fords were rated different, so is it comparable that the ford 21's equal the chevy 24's?
The PCM will learn, but not at WOT or during open loop before the engine warms up. Of course the PCM will forget everything when it loses power and it will have to relearn. Idealy, the PCM would need to be reprogrammed with any different injector. A lot of folks are getting away with not doing it though.
I have lots of good used 24's if you need some.
Received and installed the 21 lb injectors last night. It runs okay, jumped right up to 120 with no problems. Since I just purchased it I have no history to tell if the performance is less. I'm taking it to see if it passes emissions today. Will advise results.
Yes, it seems like the instant milage is reading low now. I've only driven it 30 miles since I bought it. The saftey inspection sticker is expired.
Gordon, I think you sent me an IM yesterday and I replied. Just to confirm, Yes I will take a set. That way I can go back to the originals.
I did notice the opening on on the 21's was considerably smaller than the 24's.
The computer only adjusts at idle and part throttle. At WOT, using different injectors can result in too rich or too lean of a condition. Having said that, the difference is typically so minor it doesn't matter on a basically stock engine unless someone really goes overboard on injector size and/or fuel pressure.
"All lt1's have 24# injectors" is not true. I have a 92 lt1, and the stock factory injectors are 22#. I just installed a new set of 24# and am in the process of having ski-dwn-it, jesse, burn a new chip. I have a 3inch slp cat back exhaust and a k&n filter. After installing the 24# the car is running very rich. The exhaust is black and sooty, and the motor is slugish at low rpm. It has not tripped any codes but you can feel the throtle response is not what it should be. Above 3 grand it is a bullet. So yes changing injectors does make a diff, and the comp does not always compensate on a 92 lt1 for sure. Robert
I just installed Ford #21 injectors on my LT1 (92) , from five O motorsports and the work great the only thing is to make shure the fuel rail clip is in the top groove of the injector, if you do not do this you will have a vacume leak at the bottom bung.
The # 21 are fine as the Ford rates their injectors at a lower pressure so it should be fine at the higher pressure.

That's where I got mine. Are you experiencing erroneous readings on your instant and average milage with the #21's? I did use the upper retainer ring slot on the injectors. I have a leaking injector in my 86 and was going to xfer the #21 to it and replace the originals in the LT-1. At this time I'm still trying to pass emissions with the LT-1.
