They can raise the car almost an inch, although this is because other things have worn down. If everything else is good, they wont affect it.

A few months after I got my '88 I got new shocks becuse the car felt a bit loose in long sweeping high speed turns. The new shocks raised the car at least an inch. After driving a few days and seeing that it wasn't going to settle I got a lowered kit and lowered it. I also installed an Energy Suspension Poly bushing kit when I lowered it.
