I don't want to sound dumb, but what is the exact count of O2 sensors on a 95 LT1? I have read posts that mention sensor's or replace all the sensors, so I am really confused. I only know of the one on the left exhaust pipe. Are there others?
'92-93 LT1 Engines have two, one before each catalytic convertor - 1 wire type
'94-95 LT1 have 3, one on drivers side pre-cat, two on passengers side before and after cat. Only the front ones are truely functional and the rear one can be simply unplugged without a code or any other effect. 4 wire heated O2 sensor.
'96 LT1/4 has 4, one before and one after each of the cats. The rear ones can be bypassed with O2 sims. 4 wire heated O2 sensor.
On the 96's will sims have any effect on performance or milage?
where can I buy sims?
My car has 95k miles and seems to lose milage lately and with o2 sensors costing about $50 each it can get expensive replacing all 4
If I were you, I would just replace the front ones. The rear ones are only for checking to see if the cats are working. I think sims are around $200 and are generally used only for those running without cats to fool the computer.
Are we sure a 1993 Corvette LT-1 has two O2 sensors? I have read 3 and everyone that comments or asks this question has a 92,94,95, WTF nobody has a 93? Hopefully I can get the correct answer!!
