Disconnect ECM
Been awhile. 1986 L98: Is there a trick to removing connectors from ECM (just want to check the grounds and maybe swap ECM). Do you just pull them straight out, wiggle a certain way or anything special at the connector? Have done before, but can't remember now. Too much history on this to explain, Scorp may remember some. Have been running high fever for over a week and now it's breaking pretty good. Would like to do this soon, like before the wife comes home and catches me in the garage barefoot in my pajamas. :eek:

Pry up on the metal clip then pull the connector straight off.
There's metal clips and mine had blue colored locks (for the lack of the correct name). They look like tiny hair combs.
I supposed all that compexity was designed to preven t inadvertent disconnects.
They're not hard to remove, but re-installing them is another matter; especially as you're upside-down on your back.
