O.K. after reading thru the posts in the archives and tech sections, I'm pretty sure what my headlight problem is. Let me explain the problem and then tell me if I'm thinking correctly. This concerns the right side headlight only.
1. Motor continues to run for several seconds after turning the headlights on
and/or off.
2. When the headlight opens/closes, there is a slight pause at about the
halfway point.
3. I can open the headlight with the manual ****, but I still get the pause at
the halfway point.
So my thinking is that the Delrin bushing need replaced, is this correct? I'm also thinking that since I can open/close the headlight by using the manual **** that the gears are not stripped and will not need replaced. Is this correct thinking too.
Got the long holiday weekend coming up so I was going to try and tackle the repair then. I'm hoping to get in done in 4 days  I also got to get my 81 coupe put away for the winter over that same weekend. Going to be a busy weekend!! Later Zane
I had the same problem with my 93. The bushings are actually gone. Mine were dust on the driver side. Passenger side still needs to be done, haven't gotten to it yet. Your gear should be ok. I went ahead and replaced the gear on the driver side with the brass gear. Works great. Now to find time to do the passenger side.
I have 94 vette and my right headlight makes a thumping sound when I turn lights on. Not when they clos.they both open and close in unison but that thumping sound on the right one continues for a few seconds after opening and that tells me troubles on the way has anyone had this problem or what to do before it gets worse thanks dave beaudoin

Yeah. Mine thumps like that and the motor runs for about four seconds after the lights are closed (on the driver's side.) I'm pulling the entire unit out then shipping to:
Art's Corvettes

Art charges $75 for a complete motor/gear/bushing overhaul. He comes highly recommended by several Forum members, too.
