idle change when defrost/temp control set
If I turn on the defroster (not the motor, just the adjustment) or move the temp lever to hot, my idle lowers, then I hear a switch click on, then the idle jumps up. It does this at idle only - no driveability issues once given throttle. I checked all vacuum lines - no cracks in them and all are connected tight and proper. Any suggestions? TIA :seeya

Hi,
I`m not sure if i am barking up the wrong tree - but - if u turn your heater to the defrost setting doesn`t that bring on the A/C depending on outside air temp - to get rid of the moisture and clear your windows quicker - if so the click could be the compressor kicking in and obviously the ecm will adjust your idle to allow for it. Just get someone to look under the hood while you press defrost.
Hope it`s something that simple :)
I`m lost as to why it would also do that just by moving the temp lever to hot though...
