does anyone have an engine bay shot of different nitrous etups on assorted LT1s? i am curious how hidden you can have a system or how obvious its always going to be
If I had a photo of it hidden you could not see it. :skep:
The systems that I have "not seen" have been dry and the lines are under and inside the intake plenum. Everything else is hidden wherever (wheel wells, under car, tanks in the spare tire compartment - dangerous etc.). Not much room in the Corvette. Camero's have a better chance of hidding.
Once you spray it is not a secret anyway.
I have one inconspicuous setup and one obvoious setup. If you know nitrous you would see the "hidden" one, but a general glance, will leave it unnoticed except for the bottle in the back.
A west kit is hard to hide. The best way would be to use a shark nozzle plumbed into the bottom of the intake tract. Then use black wire loom to cover the lines.
During an N20 blast, the exhaust has a faint (yet distinct) slightly different odor. Anyone arouund racing for any length of time will be able to smell it. You might be able to circumvent that with medical grade N20 though, as it is the sulfur that smells.
Zelement,
Did you powdercoat the supercharger (Vortech, I think), or is that paint.
I have a D2R that I am considering "breaking down" and powdercoating black. I dislike polished aluminum and chrome. I like the flat black look. Others have said that they have ruined a sc case by powdercoating, but that may just be talk.
WOW! thanks for all the resonses! For those of you with the NOS lines laying on top of the intake manifold, would it be possible to run those lines next to the fuel rails so they can all be under the fuel rail covers?
I'm sure it's possible with some creative plumbing. I personally don't like the fuel rail covers. I like to see all of the intake manifold and the rest of the "stuff".
The TNT kits looks totally superfluous with all those lines and 45* nozzles out the top of the plate like that....
Almost as superfluous as me using the word superfluous instead of just saying, There to much crap on top of the motor with the TNT.. It seems pointless to me, I would like to have it on the side so Its not in my way all the time.
are all these kits "dry: kits since they dont spray it in with the fuel? is that a wet kit? please explain the difference and post pics of both is possible
i have been debating this for some time wouldnt a nos plate miss cylinder 1&2.I have been thinking of the nozzle system.what doy you think the l98 isa little harder to plumb for nos. most systems are dry not wet and a wet sytem is the way i want to go.Not trying to hijact but just curious about what you guy with the plate have seen,
