Vortex Ram Air Induction Sys...
Looking at the Vortex Ram as next mod, would appreciate positive or negative comments from folks who have experience with the sys...

There has always been a big debate over this.
We ran a test at Raceway Park over three years ago, the end result was 1.5 mph faster and one tenth quicker in the 1/4. We did note that it really helped more after the 1/8th mile mark.

With a passive ram air system makes sense that any gains would be at higher speeds. Those gains for $300 may be worth it.
Any concerns about the Vortex forcing water into the engine?

Well I don't know about C4's, but several C5's that had the Vortex did alright. We made a run up to Cape Cod and it was pouring out and some flooding.
The two C5's that were with me had no problems fording the deep puddles(I really don't know how deep they were, but they were worried.
On the other hand, another buddy of mine drove his car into a deep puddle and sucked in a bunch of water.
So my opinion is that in the rain, you should be OK, but try to avoid water crossings. I have driven mine through some deep puddles(up to the door sills) and had no problems with the stock setup.

For the price they want, it is not worth it, due to the poor build quality.
I had one for my 89, It rubbed the hood, When I asked Breathless why they said it had to inorder to get a decent opening for air.
I switched to the TPiS air intake for my 89 and the quality and fit is 100x better.
