Default 4+3 Fluid Question

Looks like I've got a leak coming from the Overdrive unit on a 4+3 tranny. Is there a place to check and fill this OD unit like a normal Auto tranny from the engine compartment? The leak appears to be coming from the pan under the car, I'm hoping its just a gasket but need to know how to fill if that's not the prob.

I don't use the OD as this car is used only to AX, I will be at a road course this weekend so not sure if I'll attempt to use the OD at higher speeds. Small puddle (about an ounce) under the pan after last week's AX and some fluid still visable under the car.

There is no fill tube/dipstick in the engine bay. You have to get under the car where you'll find a fill plug on the driver side just above the pan. There is a gasket there from the factory, but when you replace the filter inside just chemically clean the surfaces and then use RTV as over time the aluminum where the pan mates up warps some and makes it nearly impossible to get a good seal with the gasket.

It takes 1.75 quarts of ATF.

Unless the leak is coming from the passenger side manual transmission drain bolt. Maybe someone has overtightened the trans drain bolt and cracked the trans casing? Been there, done that. I hope it's just the overdrive pan that Scorp has mentioned. While you're undere there on the passenger side, you might as well take out the upper trans bolt to make sure a little drip of gear oil comes out. That's how you can tell if the trans is full. The trans uses gear oil.
