95 opti in a 92
Here is what I had to change to get the '95 Opti-Spark to work in my '92:
1) Camshaft -- the early LT1s have a broached hole in the front of the camshaft that is too small for the later Opti-Spark to fit into. I'm told that in about '93 that was changed, so you may not need a camshaft change for the '93 and up. Plus, the dowel pin is too short in the camshaft -- you need a longer one for the later Opti-Spark.
2) Front cover -- the later Opti-Spark needs a larger hole in the front cover.
3) Timing Gear set -- the early Opti-Spark is driven from the cam gear, the later Opti is driven by the dowel pin in the camshaft.
4) Electrical harness extension -- the '92 is unique here.
5) You also need a way to adapt the vacuum harness -- this is an easy change.
I think you can buy a Dynaspark that is already set up for your car with the vacuum venting.
